What’s checked

This check

The small details that make a big difference

Every report covers these focused checks on one HTML page, plus robots.txt and sitemap discovery. It does not crawl a whole site, and the score only summarises this set of results.

Clarity

A simple structural review of whether the opening content explains who, what and how to get in touch.

1 check
  • Five-second clarity

Looks in the opening markup for an identity cue, a useful introductory sentence, and an obvious contact action. It cannot judge visual design or the quality of the writing.

SEO

How the page describes itself to visitors and search engines.

7 checks
  • Page title

Checks that the page has a title, and flags titles that look unusually short or long so they can be reviewed.

  • Meta description

Looks for a summary that can help search results explain the page. Missing or very short or long descriptions are worth improving.

  • Main heading

Checks for a clear primary heading (H1). Extra H1s are treated as a structural review point, not a disaster.

  • Canonical URL

Reads the preferred address declared on the page and notes missing, conflicting, or different canonicals.

  • Search visibility directive

Reports whether HTML robots directives ask supporting crawlers not to index or follow the page.

  • Social sharing metadata

Looks for Open Graph title, description and image fields that help shared links show a clearer preview.

  • Structured data

Notes whether the page includes JSON-LD or similar structured data. Presence is reported; the audit does not validate a full schema.

Accessibility

Checks that help more people understand the page.

6 checks
  • Image descriptions

Counts images missing an alt attribute. Empty alt="" is allowed because it may correctly mark decorative images.

  • Form labels

Looks for accessible names on form fields so people can tell what to enter.

  • Heading hierarchy

Reviews whether headings appear in a sensible order rather than skipping levels.

  • Mobile viewport

Checks for a viewport setting that lets the layout use the device width.

  • Page language

Looks for a language on the HTML element so assistive technology can read the page correctly.

  • Link names

Flags links whose accessible name is missing or unhelpful, such as “click here” with no extra context.

Technical

The response, security and crawler-facing setup.

7 checks
  • HTTP response

Reports whether the final page returned a successful status after any followed redirects.

  • HTTPS

Checks that the final page is served over a secure HTTPS connection.

  • robots.txt

Looks for a robots.txt file on the site. V1 does not interpret allow or disallow rules.

  • Sitemap

Looks for a sitemap from robots.txt or common sitemap addresses, and checks that a found file looks like a sitemap.

  • Security headers

Notes whether common browser security headers are present. Missing headers are a prompt to review, not proof that a site is unsafe.

  • Image dimensions

Checks whether images declare width and height, which can reduce layout jumpiness while they load.

  • Site icon

Looks for a favicon or similar site icon so browsers and bookmarks can identify the site.
