Page title
Give the page a clear title
The title is one of the first things people and search engines use to tell pages apart. The checker flags a missing title, and titles that look unusually short or long so they can be reviewed.
- 01
Step 1
Write a title that names this page, not only the organisation.
- 02
Step 2
Put the most useful words near the start.
- 03
Step 3
Add it in the document head as a <title> element.
- 04
Step 4
Run the checker again and review any remaining length warning rather than padding the title with keywords.
A title warning is a review prompt, not a ranking score. Distinct, readable titles matter more than hitting an exact character count.
